The Peak Patio Fire Pit offers a unique design that allows the grate within the pit to flex under significant amounts of heat. As The Peak Patio Fire Pit can achieve temperatures surpassing 1900 degrees Fahrenheit, it is important for our design to allow for this flexing. To further support this flexing, we have designed specific welds to potentially break when under significant pressure. This is normal and allows the ash catch to flex properly while remaining in place.

The Esee Fire Steel is a REALLY good one. I have other fire steels that do not have a high carbon content thus they do not put out a good spark when hitting a flint stone. This one is superior. Not only does it have a high carbon content but it has TWO usable sides to strike with.The edges are a firm 90 degree angle which makes it totally usable to use with a ferro rod. The sparks are just as good or better than with the back of your high carbon bushcraft knife. NOT ONLY THAT, this fire steel comes with a bow drill groove on one side to hold the bow drill rod firmly down on the platform. This Esee Fire Steel is a triple threat PLUS unit. The higher price is totally worth the higher functionality of this unit. Esee is a well respected name in the Knife world. They came through with this well thought out fire steel.
