The Firegear DBS-22-OAS-LP35 Burning Spur provides a high quality burner system to complete your gas fire pit project. Both the burner and the pan are constructed from heavy duty 304 stainless steel to create a long lasting and durable product while the unique "spur" design creates a realistic flame appearance. Firegear's unique match throw (MT) kits are designed to provide a simple match light ignition system for reliability and ease of use. These kits are designed with higher capacity orifices to provide a larger amount of BTU but are not UL Listed.
It took me awhile to figure out how to get it to spark. For the perhaps uneducated in flint, it could be a challenge as there are no instructions on or in the package. Once we struck it enough to wear off some of the black coating, that's when it really sparked! It says it works even when wet but we have yet to test that. It is light weight, stores in its own case and has a cord to keep it where you need it in your pack. Definitely a good tool to have along for a pack in camp or when you need to go light but don't want to sacrifice certain luxuries.
A must have for any wilderness care package or emergency preparedness backpack. The flint looks like it will last a long time you want to make sure your kindling is really dry or it will not ignite when the spark hits it a fire starter is pretty much the first thing you need if you plan on doing any camping or survivalist kit in the woods but even if your just hiking or something it's good to have in your backpack in case of emergency. It works well as long as you know how to use it it's much easier than a flint and rock situation and is inexpensive I definitely recommend
I love this little flint set. It's so compact and easy to carry, but it packs a punch when you have to use it for starting a fire. The flint and striker are both hidden away when not in use. It is also easy to spot with high visibility colors.
I enjoyed creating my own fire without the help of a lighter, the fire starter works fine it took a few tries at it to get a spark but eventually I got it.. some fire starters don't look like this one and I wasn't afraid to use it.
This is super handy and easy to use. Much better and safer than using matches, at least for me personally. I like the bright orange color too because I can easily find it in my camping gear.
